In 1971 a young tenor from Barcelona called Josep Maria Carreras won the  International Verdi Singing Competition in Parma, Italy. Together with him in the final round was a soprano from Pesaro who recorded the contest. My very special thanks to her and the collector who made it possible for us to listen to the winner piece.
